I wish I could have joined the teens say 'Thank God It's Sabado'.

Btw, this blog will not talk about how I miss my worry-free Saturdays since may klase na ako since November.

Noong December 16, 2012, ni-revive sa television ang youth-oriented show na TGIS via its sequel, Teen Gen or TG.

Kaya heto't bumalik ang longing ko sa youth-oriented show that started it all. I was visiting the thread of Teen Gen sa Pinoy Exchange when I saw that someone has video clips of old episodes sa Multiply. (Won't post the link na lang.) Of course, mega hanap at mega nood ako agad!

I just missed this moment of almost everyone's life. Not the miss na hinahanap hanap mo, but the miss na hindi mo nakita, or naabutan. Most will agree that most of the youth oriented shows after the era of TGIS, Gimik and Click ay nag-focus sa inlaban, konting singit na lang ng teen life.

Kahit few episodes lang nag napanuod/napapanuod ko sa TGIS (present tense for the Multiply site, past tense 'cause I can still remember some episodes - Antoinette Taus batch na nga lang), gandang ganda ako. Maybe because first time kong napanuod? Haha. But they have amazing Opening Billboards! From the Virtual Hoops and Croosword Puzzle of TGIS with Walking on Sunshine as the background music to the Sunflowers with Buttercup and Flags with the song I am still searching for the title of Growing Up, sobrang nostalgic + Fun! Seeing Angelu de Leon in such a young age is very priceless. I love her as an actress up until now.

Masayang masaya naman ako sa TG dahil kahit papaano it's trying to bring back the Youth-Oriented Spirit ng mga ganitong klaseng shows. Plus kasama si Peachy and Wacks, with matching flashbacks pa! I also love Luv U and I faithfully watch that, but my main reason is for the kilig, and for the laughter.

Malay niyo GMA, it might change the viewership just like what TGIS and Viva did to you 17 years ago (Yes, kaedad ko ang TGIS, I'm just a month older.). Pero actually, ang wish talaga ng majority of the peeps around ay ang re-airing ng youth-oriented show na ito.

Nauna talagang mabuo ang interes ko sa show na ito year 2008, 2009 and mas noong 2011 when I saw a reminiscing thread ng TGIS sa PinoyExchange. And grabe, the show had a lot lot of fans! And they were reminiscing about the cast, the music videos, the OBBs, the caps written under the title, and the story itself. It's just a big WOW for me. And honestly, nai-inggit ako sa kanila, 'cause they were able to witness a phenomenon that happened on Philippine Television.

Anyway, most of you know that I am a Kapamilya, and yet I am talking about TGIS. I should be talking about G!m!k right? Maganda din naman siya and like it! May old episodes din sa Youtube and it's cute! Pero ewan ko, maybe because TeenGen made an impact and Gimik 2010 wasn't as pleasing at TeenGen is. Don't get me wrong ha. I ♥ Gimik 2010. It's one of my most favorite Your Song episodes, however, the storyline of the new batch isn't as effective as the old YOSs are. Maybe because expectations with the show, including mine, are too high.

I wish that VIVA would release a DVD of TGIS and Growing Up. Haha!

Grabe, because of that reminiscing, I learned to love the songs Dyslexic Heart, Growing Up, Walking on Sunshine, I Wanna Be With You and It Might Be You. :) Plus I dream that I can write a youth-oriented show soon at seryoso, ipa-pattern ko siya sa TGIS. Sa treatment lang ha, not the story mismo! Ma-plagiarism ako! Haha. What I mean is that mag-focus din siya sa Teen Life and not sa Love Life!

I feel bad that my generation wasn't able to witness this show. For sure makakarelate ang lahat. Except the polka-dot and tucked in outfits plus the Birkenstock with socks ha! Hahaha! Meron siya I swear.

Pero kung papipiliin ako, I could have born sa generation nila Angelu. I could have joined the teens say THANK GOD IT'S SABADO! ♥ And sakto. HAHA. And hawig pala ang sisters sa TGIS na sina Angelu de Leon as Peachy Real and Idelle Martinez as Samantha Real! :D
