Kwento Mo: Chef In Progress

Kung last week, nagpahinga ang Kwento Mo segment, ito ay nagbabalik ngayon with an inspiring story about someone na dati, dream lang niya, pero ngayon natupad na!

This girl is a classmate of mine sa SPU Manila, and guess what? She just appeared in a magazine! Bongga diba! :D Eto yong kanyang magazine feature. :)


Odiba, bongga! Hahaha! Kaya naman ngayon, let's all read my exclusive interview with my classmate, na nafeature sa magazine, and a CHEF IN PROGRESS, Miss Murielle Del Carmen!

Jimpy: Hi Muriel! Actually, ikaw ang una ko talagang legit na iinterviewhin para sa segment na to! Haha! Kaya naman super happy din ako na ikaw dahil ang KWENTO MO ay bongga! Haha.  So recently, natupad ang isa sa mga dreams mo (na excited mo pang kwinento sa amin! Haha!)...pero para sa ating mga readers, ano nga ba itong dream mo na natupad?
Murielle: Ayan lumabas ako sa isang food magazine (Appetite magazine) which is really one of my dream/goal in life. My sister-in-law asked me if I want to cook for a magazine

J: Wow! So bongga pala talaga! Haha! Kelan ito nangyari and where?

M: April 12, 2013 somewhere in Ortigas yung venue near Metrowalk. I was actually with my boyfriend at that time. Hahaha!  2 celebrations in 1 kase 7 months of being together and celebration for being on a magazine

J: So bago tayo mapunta dun sa event proper, hilig mo na talaga before ang pagluluto?

M: Nung una gusto ko lang itry kasi parang exciting  Yung tipong ikaw kakain ng sarili mong niluto parang ang sarap sa feeling. Hahaha!

J: Hahaha totoo yan kasi I used to cook din before pero ayoko na. HAHA! Anyway, kwento mo nga, so yon. Anong mga dish na ang na-try mo nang iluto? What was your first dish and how did it taste?
M: Gusto ko yung mga fry fry kasi ang bilis lang. Iiwan mo lang sya tapos hihintayin mo nalang maluto. First dish? hahahaha! Tocino  Masarap sya, as in!


J: Ikaw mismo nag marinate and everything? Bongga!
M; Nung una hindi, try ko lang muna yung nabibili sa mga supermarket. Wala talaga kong alam that time as in, nagtanong lang ako sa tita ko paano lang sya lutuin. Hahaha! Ang beginner ko non as in.

J: Oh, pero okay na yun kase diba turning point na? haha. But what was the first dish talaga na from scratch mo sinimulan?

M: Tuna Spaghetti! As in I asked my Mum for the ingredients that I need and kung pano sya lulutuin. Hahaha! Isang try ko lang dapat sya gawin pero dapat perfect na.

J: And it turned out na?

M: It tasted great!! As in! Unexpected!

J: Congrats! Haha! So from that, fast forward tayo sa bonggang achievement mo. Una, anong dish yung niluto mo and what preparations did you make before that event?
M: Tapa Spaghetti yung dish. Siguro 2 months before the shoot gusto ko maging slim, hahaha! Gusto ko payat ako tignan sa magazine pero parang walang nangyari sa plano ko na diet. Hahaha!! Eating is fun. 

J: Hahaha! At yang preparations talaga na yan ang nabanggit mo. Hahaha! I mean, sa lulutuin mo, nagpractice ka ba, or kung ano man.. 
M: Hahahaha!!!!! Ok [a]kala ko sa sarili ko. Wala kong practice or anything. That same day ko [lang]kase malalaman yung lulutuin. The recipe is from the chef.

J: Oh my gosh. So mejo exciting at challenging talaga ha. So what transpired during the event?

M: May pinasukan kame na room na may kitchen sa loob na parang auditorium style. There's a kitchen in front. Nag meet kame dun ng friend ng sister-in-law ko. Sya yung mag iinterview saken. Then, dumating na yung chef, diniscuss na yung mga gagawin and all. Hahaha! Same as Tuna spaghetti lang pala, iba lang yung ingredients sa Tapa. Then, we started na. There's a photographer na kumukuha samen. Lights were placed everywhere around me. They actually tried to teach me how to do the "toss" pero at the end of the day di ko sya nagawa. hahaha! [Ang]loser ng feeling ko.  Joke.

J: Hahaha! Pero winner ang experience diba! So ngayon, fastforward tayo uli, anong na-feel mo when the magazine came out and you saw yourself there at natupad ang isa sa greatest dreams mo?

M: Syempre ang saya ko kase one of my dreams came true. As in super, saya! My Mum actually bought a copy and dun ko lang sya nakita. The day after, pinost nya agad sa facebook! Hahahaha!

J: So after ng bonggang happening sa buhay mo, what piece/s of advice can you give sa mga iba din diyan na may dreams na gustong matupad?

M: You just have to wait for opportunities and if they're already there in front of you, grab them. Don't let them go, you wont know when's the next one coming your way.

J: Wow bongga!!! :)) So what do we expect from you after this achievement? or maybe after college? Itutuloy tuloy mo ba ang pagluluto as a career or as a hobby?

M: I want to enter a culinary school but I'll just take short courses. Hahaha! I still want to be a TV personality .

J: Malay mo maging mala Chef Rosebud ka or yung sa international diba? Haha! Would you like to invite them to buy the magazine kung saan featured ka?
