Teleserye Throwback: 60 Years of Pinoy Soap Opera

Noong 2010, ipinagdiwang ng ABS-CBN ang 60 Years of Pinoy Soap Opera by offering Teleseryes with great stories and high production value. Iba-ibang genre rin ang inoffer nila - from drama to action to fantaserye to remakes ng movies, comics, latinovelas and books.

Nagsimula ang pinoy soap opera noong 1949 sa radio via the popular Gulong ng Palad. And then it expanded into television noong 1960s via the first TV soap opera in the Philippines - Hiwaga sa Bahay na Bato. Simula noon, nagsunod-sunod na ang mga bigating TV dramas, una na diyan ang binasagang Ina ng Pinoy Soap Opera na Mara Clara noong 1992, Mula sa Puso at Esperanza noong 1997.

2000 naman nang unang marinig ang term na TELESERYE via Pangako Sa'Yo - ang kauna-unahang venture ng Star Cinema sa pagpo-produce ng TV Dramas. Nasundan ito ng Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, Darating ang Umaga, at Bituin.

Sa GMA naman, VIVA Entertainment ang katuwang nila sa pagpo-produce ng kanilang mga TV Dramas - Villa Quintana, Ikaw na Sana and Anna Karenina to name a few. Noong 1999 naman sila gumawa ng sarili nilang TV Drama with Di Ba't Ikaw. Nasundan ito noong 2001 ng Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga at Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw.

Teleserye Throwback: Magkaribal

Last 2010, ABS-CBN and Star Television - Star Cinema's TV Production Unit - produced a first in Philippine Teleseryes - a fashionserye. At eto ang MAGKARIBAL. The soap premiered last June 28, 2010 and ended November 5, 2010.

Originally, the soap was supposed to star the sisters Claudine and Gretchen Barretto, pero lumipat si Claudine sa kabilang network. And she was replaced by Bea Alonzo. :) Other stars in the show were Angel Aquino, Derek Ramsay, Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee. Kasama rin sina Mark Gil, Arlene Muhlach, John Arcilla, Bianca Manalo, Nina Ricci Alagao, Marc Abaya and Mr. Robert Arevalo. It is written by BJ Lingan, Tin Novicio, Jimuel dela Cruz, Jessie Villabrille and head written by G3 San Diego and Jay Fernando. And directed by no less Nuel C. Naval and Mae Czarina Cruz.

The cast of Magkaribal

The story of the soap centers on two sisters - Anna/Victoria (Gretchen Barretto) and Angela/Gelai (Alonzo) - separated by fate, and will find themselves again in the fashion world, not as sisters, but as rivals. They will also fight for the love of the same man - in the name of Louie (Ramsay). This also a story of an adopted child wanting the love of her adoptive mother, trying to get her attention by doing something she doesn't love - Chloe (Gonzales) - who will find real love in a person of a man also trying to prove himself that he is capable of being loved by the woman he desires - Caloy (Dee). And most of all, a story of a woman trying to keep her position as the Queen of Philippine Fashion after being threatened by a woman of her past - Vera (Aquino).

Kahit ang headwriter ng Apoy sa Dagat na si Sir Arden Rod Condez, naitanong na yan. Haha. :)

Pero I swear, this entry is like a 60 Year of Philippine TV entry. Hehe. :)

My Collection and I. :)

 OKAY. Pinanganak kasi ako, 1995. Noong 1996, or one year old pa lang ako, tandang tanda ko na pinapanuod dito sa bahay, MariMar. Ang eksena pa noon, nasusunog ang bahay ng Lolo't Lola ni MariMar. Yun na lang naaalala ko, pero vivid pa sakin kung ano ang nangyayari. :) Meron ding one time na Mara Clara ang palabas, pero ang naaalala ko na lang, logo. Then dumating ang Esperanza. Ang pinaka-vivid pa sa akin na memory diyan, yung namatay ang character ni Angelika dela Cruz. Binaril siya ni Carmina Villaroel, or nabangga ata yung kotse nila. :) 1999 naman nung natapos ang Mula sa Puso, at naaalala ko pa kung paano sumabog ang kotse ni Selina. Tapos ang super nasubaybayan ko talagang tanda tanda ko, Saan Ka Man Naroroon. Nilalaro ko pa ito sa Barbie, yung mga nahuhulog sila sa bangin! Haha! Sa Labs Ko Si Babe kasi, si Carmi Martin na lang naaalala ko na umaakyat ng hagdan na may benda sa ulo. Tapos si Edu Manzano naman, sinave si Zsa-Zsa Padilla dahil masasagasaan siya. (Speaking of, biglang tumugtog ang theme song ng Villa Quintana habang tina-type ko to, sayang di ko napanood yan!) Isama pala natin ang Anna Karenina na ang naalala ko, medyo madami, pero the best yung tumalon si Ruth (Maritoni Fernandez) sa building, nagpakamatay siya, tas labas yung brains niya, KALOKA! :) I can also remember the logo of TGiS flashing on my screen. Haha. Click na kasi at G-Mik ang nasubaybayan ko. Pero I used to watch Gimik and Coney Reyes on Camera back to back noon. Tapos nasundan pa ng Ang Munting Paraiso - inaabangan ko yan every Saturday!

History of My Sweet Teleserye Collection ♥

June 9, 2010. I was at the mall with my mom when we passed through the mini-record bar of SM South Mall. I was shocked when I saw this album...

This was the commemorative album of Star Records for the celebration of 60 Years of Pinoy Soap Opera. Of course, since I'm a teleserye addict, I wanted to have that as soon as possible. And it was 450 pesos. At that time, I don't have the cash! So two days after (June 11, 2010), after we had our sectioning, me and my bffs directly went to SM South Mall. And I had this:

It's with me finally! I am so happy and contented since I had it all, theme songs of teleseryes from Mula sa Puso to Momay (which was the latest at that time).

Then on June 26, 2010, JC and I went again to SM South Mall because she'll buy a Super Junior Album. That was her addiction, all about K-POP. So while she's buying, I was browsing the store, and saw this...

And that time, I admit, I envied JC because she's buying something and I'm not! So, without further ado, I bought it! It was only 250 then. (yabang haha) After that, I had this:

Yes, that's how I became addicted! :)) In case you wanted to know, those are the soundtracks of Teleseryes which includes Pangarap na Bituin, Sana Maulit Muli, Lobo, Maging Sino Ka Man, My Only Hope, My Girl etc. And of course, madadagdagan pa yan soon. :)) Dami ko pang di nabibili! :D

Anyway, before I collected these albums, I first had books of Precious Hearts Romances na tinelevise. My first was Ang Lalaking Nagmahal Sa Akin (bought it October 29, 2009!). And many followed. :)

Nagpatuloy ang aking collection when I wished na makakuha ng Tayong Dalawa DVD nung birthday ko last 2010. Fortunately, binigyan ako ni Anna and Krisha. And I love it. HAHA. Naadik din ako sa Magkaribal that's why I bought Volumes 1, 2, 8 and 9 and ginift saken ni Cher, Kathryn and Sarah ung volumes 3, 4, 5 and exchange gift ni Mico saken yung Volumes 6 and 7. Super thankful ako sa kanila. HAHA. :D And nung nakumpleto ko Magkaribal, Maging Sino Ka Man naman, and the rest followed. Eto na siya:

Well, my addiction really started in 2009. Sectioning din yun, nagpaprint ako ng sangkatutak na pictures ng mga logo ng teleserye. HAHA! Grabe noh. :))) Hanggang sa naadik adik ako, nagkasunod sunod, and the rest is History. :)) Eto pa oh. HAHA. :D

Thanks to the people who contributed a lot sa collection ko. Grabe. Ano kayang meron sa buhay ko at naadik ako ng ganto. HAHA. Eh kasi naman, baby pa lang ako, Mara Clara na pinapanuod ng nanay ko, nahawa ako! =)) HAHAHA.

Okay na, napapansin ko, ngarag na ko magblog. Plano kasi dapat straight english, ano na nangyari ngayon! AMP. HAHAHA! :)) And because the system was too slow, I won't elaborate more. I'm sleepy na rin. HAHA. Magblog ba kase 11PM. Uy halos 1 hour to ah. 11:56 na! HAHA! =)))

So Lesson in Life? Treasure all the things you have! HAHA! And nako, instead of ginagastos ang pera sa VICES, dapat sa mga ganto na lang diba! HAHA! lol. :D
